"Awful, would not recommend!!!"

We didn't have high expectations considering the price we paid, however it was far worse than anyone should put up considering the price it costs anyway. The rooms are very old fashioned and drab, which is fine to deal with however there is damage to the walls (which we have also seen in other reviews for different rooms), as well as very little protection from the noise of the street traffic, plus snoring neighbours! Slept thankfully due only to having packed ear plugs! However our biggest issue is that we have stayed here during a summer month and the room is absolutely roasting. The rooms are not advertised for having air con so we could not expect much, however there must be pipes or something distributing heat around the rooms because even leaving the door and windows wide open (which it doesn't feel safe to do so anyway) the room heats right back up as soon as the door us closed again. We have slept very poorly!! Only gave 2 stars due to the shower being fairly okay, even so the water leaked out of the door onto the floor. The location is good however there are plenty of other hotels around here (Lombard street) so would highly encourage others to stay elsewhere.

"Great location but bad service"

The location of this hotel is great. Perfect walking distance to an array of restaurants and bars, the Palace of Fine Arts, Fisherman's Wharf and more. Sadly, this is the only thing going for it (and the free wifi) Although we felt safe, I really didn't feel that our car was safe as the car parked contained lots of smashed window glass and a backpacking couple had their car stolen whilst we were staying there. The car park is first-come-first-served so if you arrive late or leave your spot for the evening you run the risk of having to pay on the street-side all night. Car park is very cramped with cigarettes butts and glass everywhere. Hotel mat into the elevator was completely filthy. The room was very, very average. Extremely humid with no air-con available and we were not going to leave the window open all night either. Above all this though, the worst has to be the service. At least 3 of the 4 mornings we were there the office wasn't until 9am even though breakfast was supposed to be 8am-10am. Frustrating when you want to make an early start to explore the city. The backpackers who had their car stolen received next to no help or sympathy from the manager. Overall, you get what you pay for but this service and quality of room is below average. It just seems like they can't be bothered. Turning up an hour late each morning and doing the bare minimum to get through the day.

"Stay away from this place"

This is by far the worst "hotel" experience I ever had. Filthy rooms, very dirty, smoke and marijuana smells. In addition a very rude and aggressive front desk man (the older guy) who was shouting and threatening. I cannot believe a place like this exists. Absolutely a waste of money to stay here.

"Cheap Place to sleep"

The hotel was cheap, the bed was fairly comfortable and the TV worked but they were the only positives I could take out of my stay there. The only lighting in the rooms were lamps and one had a cut cord and didn't work the other one was in a power point that had blown so didn't work. There was one beside the bed that thankfully was ok. The fridge froze everything. Amenities in room advertised were not provided eg no means to make coffee, and 24 hour reception did not exist. Would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay there again.

"Worst hotel"

This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in. The heater was like something out of the Ark. Bathroom small and dingy and no safe. Staff on the other hand were brilliant, told us about catching the public bus instead of booking a tour which saved us loads of dollars.
