The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Union Square, but also a minute from the tenderloin area. The rooms are like any other hotel room, but were clean and tidy on arrival, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room to put your clothes away. There was coffee/tea in your room plus a little fridge next to mini bar. The bathroom was good although we only had hot water out of the taps to start with, this was sorted but not completely so we were given bottled water for cleaning teeth and drinking. The prices in the restaurants were expensive, but there are plenty of places to eat. Overall a good base to stay in San Fransisco

"Reminded me a little bit of Fairmont, and some Tokyo hotels."

Good hotel in Mission district. This means its at the bottom of the knob hill, which is a great location (little less so walking outside at midnight). Very nice ambiance and professional feel to the hotel with good attention to detail. As everyone says, lots of upgrade costs at checkin in order to get a good stay. This makes the overall stay expensive, but paying an extra 100$ USD for imperial floor is worth it. The upgrade included access to the private (card access only) top floors, access to the fitness centre, premium wifi, and early check in and late checkout. Buffet breakfast also included. Service was attentive and clean, professional. The room was above my expectations. The washroom is wonderful. I really rate hotels based on the washrooms. Very nice shower, bath and vanity area. Decent amenities. Towels were plush. Modern room, Big negative was no blackout blinds? The windows are huge and tons of light poured in. Maybe I missed it. The bed is good quality, definitely comparable to famous fairmont mattress. Overall I would stay here again definitely, even compared to Fairmont. I did like the location vs knob hill, as you never return to your hotel sweaty/tired from a walk. The views from the top floor aren't as spectacular as Fairmont but still great. From the Japanese influence point of view, it is clear. The rooftop pool is like a jr size park hyatt tokyo while the breakfast buffet with open kitchen is more like mini andaz. And the Toto toilet, a weird pleasurable convenience.

"Great location, superb hotel"

The hotel is quite clean, great location and was fairly peaceful. I would have no hesitation booking this hotel on my next trip to San Francisco. The only thing that I thought was a bit tacky was the nominal charge to use the fitness center (which is quite nice). But, I would have preferred that expense to have simply been part of the booking charge. Otherwise, superb place and experience!

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone visiting San Francisco! Location is fabulous! You have plenty of restaurants and shops, malls that are close, you are also near the subway, bus stops and cable car stops, what else can you ask for? Rooms are very spacious and clean! Loved their body lotion (bonus)! It was also my birthday and the hotel gave me and my husband a voucher for drinks to celebrate the occasion! That was very nice on their part. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if I’m in San Francisco!

"Luxury Hotel in the Heart of San Francisco"

Our company held our user conference at the Nikko Hotel two of the last 3 years. It is a very clean and well apportioned hotel with bar and restaurant. Our conference drew about 300 attendees over 2 days with several meetings in the main ballroom, and several smaller rooms for breakout sessions. Even included a happy hour one night on the top floor with a spectacular view of the city.. The hotel serviced continental style breakfast both days, and buffet style lunches for all attendees. The foor was good, but nor stellar, probably because of our company's choice of food as well as the volume needed to feed the masses. My room seemed to have been recently updated. It was pleasant, but seemed a little small. The furniture quality was not befitting of a hotel of that elk, but was not horrible by any means. The biggest issue I had was that my room must have been facing east, and without blackout curtians, seemed to get very warm when I went to my room mid-day for a break. It was a nice hotel, and although I do not know specifically how much my company paid for the room, suspect it was a good value in my case because of the volume discount due to the number of rooms booked for our conference.
