My family and I are not the type to do the cheesie, touristy traveler tours, but we sucked in our pride and wanted to do seomething that could Highlight for us some of the things to do while we were in the city for a short stay. I had no idea how gorgeous this park is!!!! It is, hands-down the most beautiful and diverse park I’ve ever seen in our beautiful country. There’s people line-dance roller skating, cycling, archery, amazing gardens, drum circles, museums, live music, art galleries..... You could spend a few full days in this park and still not see and do everything. I’m so happy we did the Segway tour. We’re going back to the park today to look at some of the gardens and to visit the science museum. Well worth the price of the tour and riding around on the segways was a lot of fun too. Jack was our tour guide. He was awesome and I highly recommend him as your tour guide. Don’t forget to tip him at the end (not required), but it’s an expensive city to live in and he does an awesome job keeping you informed and highlighting everything along the tour.

We hired a private Segway tour which was fantastic!! AG was our guide, very knowledgable and accommodating and fun to ride with. Would highly recommend doing the private tour as it gives you flexibility to go to see the sights you’d like. We loved the trip down Lombard st and telegraph hill too. I’ve rented segways in a few areas across Europe but I’d say this was by far the best tour :) thanks guys!

Take the golden gate tour. You will see many areas of the park and have a great experience on your Segway. We went with Jack. He was very engaging and knowledgeable. Alicia did a great job checking us in and making us feel welcome. Jack made us very confident for first time on a Segway. Good training before leaving to see so many cool sites in the park. We look forward to going on the advanced tour of the park. Great company. Jack was a super guide. You will really enjoy the experience.

Frequently Asked Questions about The Official Golden Gate Park Segway Tour

Are there physical limitations for who can and cannot ride a Segway?
We offer a 45-50 minute training session for all Segway tour guests. However, riding and navigating a Segway is not an ideal situation for individuals with or a history of mobility issues.

All guests who wish to participate in the tour must be able to easily and quickly step on and off without assistance. This movement is similar to ascending and descending stairs without the use of a handrail.

Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the tour due to the risk of falling when navigating the Segway. Due to the same risk, individuals above the age of 70 are not allowed to participate.

In an effort to ensure all guests are safe throughout the entire tour experience, we require that all guests must be age 12 or older and weigh at least 100 lbs.

I need to cancel my reservation. What is the process for doing so?
Any cancellations made by the listed cancellation date will receive a FULL REFUND with absolutely NO CANCELLATION FEES. Any reservations past the cancellation date cannot be changed or canceled.

What happens in the case of rain?
All tours run in light rain, fog, or shine. In the case that a tour is canceled due to extreme weather, you will be given the opportunity to join a future tour.

What time is my tour?
You will set your tour time when making your reservation.

Is parking available?
No. There are no onsite parking facilities available. It is recommended that guests park at one of the many lots and garages nearby or utilize public transportation.

What should I wear for the tour?
Closed-toed shoes are required for tour participation. Wearing an extra layer such as a light jacket is ideal for the San Francisco weather.

Will I be taught how to ride a Segway?
Yes. All riders are thoroughly trained prior to the tour. Training instruction includes safe Segway operation, emergency stops, a safety cone course, and the “Share the Road” policy overview. Every rider is required to wear a helmet and wear a bright safety vest.
