"Simply a must do if you are in SF"

My wife was nervous about doing the city and waterfront tour - seriously if she can do it anyone can. Within 10 mins she was a coasting down the street leading the rest of the tour. It's a great 3 hours and you get to see another side to the city. - Tour guides are very good and keep you entertained the whole time. There are several stops on route so you can get pictures. Safety is their priority and at no time do you feel like you are in danger. This was my second time on the segway tour of SF and it was still brilliant. 100% do it you won't regret it. Big shout out to Pres. for his wonderfully entertaining commentry.

We did the advanced Crooked Streets and hills tour. Being in our 70's and having ridden before thought it would be fun and challenging. It was!. Rode with Melanie as our tour guide and she was great. She knew every cracking in the pavement and bump, helped a lot! Great sites, views and lots of history. The stop at the SF Cable Car museum was very educational. Would highly recommend Electric Tour Company and Melanie for a tour guide.

"Mini Segway Tour - Waterfront"

The tour itself with Nicky was excellent and would have been worth 5 stars. She was very good at teaching us how to safely use the segways, she had a good sense of humour and excellent knowledge of the area. The company was good at contacting us prior to the tour however their directions to the start point of the tour were confusing, and this is an area the company could work on. I would recommend using this company but would advise that you know where your tour starts as there are several locations.

Kyle was an awesome tour guide! I was worried about my 74 year old mother's ability to handle the Segway. Kyle did a great job making sure that she was comfortable and safe. He even provided her with an earbud that was compatible with her hearing aid so that she could hear him. Kyle was super knowledgeable and very funny. Easily the most fun we had on our trip!

Frequently Asked Questions about The Official Golden Gate Park Segway Tour

Are there physical limitations for who can and cannot ride a Segway?
We offer a 45-50 minute training session for all Segway tour guests. However, riding and navigating a Segway is not an ideal situation for individuals with or a history of mobility issues.

All guests who wish to participate in the tour must be able to easily and quickly step on and off without assistance. This movement is similar to ascending and descending stairs without the use of a handrail.

Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the tour due to the risk of falling when navigating the Segway. Due to the same risk, individuals above the age of 70 are not allowed to participate.

In an effort to ensure all guests are safe throughout the entire tour experience, we require that all guests must be age 12 or older and weigh at least 100 lbs.

I need to cancel my reservation. What is the process for doing so?
Any cancellations made by the listed cancellation date will receive a FULL REFUND with absolutely NO CANCELLATION FEES. Any reservations past the cancellation date cannot be changed or canceled.

What happens in the case of rain?
All tours run in light rain, fog, or shine. In the case that a tour is canceled due to extreme weather, you will be given the opportunity to join a future tour.

What time is my tour?
You will set your tour time when making your reservation.

Is parking available?
No. There are no onsite parking facilities available. It is recommended that guests park at one of the many lots and garages nearby or utilize public transportation.

What should I wear for the tour?
Closed-toed shoes are required for tour participation. Wearing an extra layer such as a light jacket is ideal for the San Francisco weather.

Will I be taught how to ride a Segway?
Yes. All riders are thoroughly trained prior to the tour. Training instruction includes safe Segway operation, emergency stops, a safety cone course, and the “Share the Road” policy overview. Every rider is required to wear a helmet and wear a bright safety vest.
