"Fun boat ride"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed July 23, 2017 NEW
We were able to buy a ticket easy enough and it wasn't too expensive. We took the ferry over to Sausalito. The ferry was running late. I think it was because it was a busy weekend and there were a ton of people who rented bikes who were using the ferry. But it was about 15 minutes late to take us to Sausalito and then to take us back to San Francisco it was an hour late. The boat ride was fun and you get some great views from top deck you also get a great view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. You can buy drinks on boat alcohol too. They also have a small selection of snacks. You can also buy tickets on board the ferry. But the lines to get on the boats get really long, at least they did while we were there. Oh and dress warm because it gets chilly out on deck!!

"Best harbor cruise and whale sightings"

The harbor cruise takes about an hour or so. They take you out underneath Golden Gate Bridge and past Alcatraz. While we were on the cruise they announced that George and Gracie (Star Trek fans!) were in the bay. While on the cruise we saw whales breaching and saw their spray. It was fabulous! We also got a close up view of Alcatraz, which was great. Recommend you take this cruise!

"Day trip to Angel Island"

If you are staying in SF for quite a while and want a bit of an outdoor escape head to Angel Island for a nice hike and beautiful view/vantage of the city. The ferry's arrive about every two hours and if you can hoof it you can make the next ferry. I'd highly recommend either planning on doing a speedy hike or packing a picnic and picnicking on the sunset trail so that you can enjoy the view of the golden gate bridge and san francisco. This is an amazing get away from a somewhat concrete jungle.

"Great service bringing the bikes back"

We took two tandems over the golden gate right around to the seaside town on tiburon. The bikes all went in very smoothly and came out the same way. The last ferry back had great views of the bridge at sunset departing at 730pm and the best part was NO LINE!

For $24 per person, this is a worthwhile tour of San Fran. You get great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. You get to spend some time on the water and I found it relaxing. Search online for discounts before you book.
