Tour started on time. after about an hour drive to Muir Woods which included a basic tour of San Francisco we were given 1.5 hours in the woods. Would have liked more time but it was advertised this way. There is a brief stop in Sausalito if you want to get off the bus and stay there, but then you need to find your own way back to san francisco

We had booked the tour in advance and received confirmation at the stage of booking. We received an email from the company before departure asking us to confirm the trip which we responded to and we received a response reconfirming our booking confirmation at 10am the day before we were due to leave for our trip. I was disappointed to see when we returned from a day of sight seeing that at approx 1pm the day before our trip (only 3 hours after receiving the confirmation email that all was good) I had received an email explaining that they were cancelling the 11am departure to Muir Woods and were offering 9am and 2pm as alternatives. As it was after usual working hours, we had no alternative but to cancel our arrangements for the following day and book on to the afternoon tour, as it was too late to get confirmation of a morning pick up from our hotel etc. I appreciate that it is not cost effective to run tours with only a few people, but to cancel at such a late stage I think is unacceptable. We ended up spending our evening trying to rearrange plans and wonder if we would actually get the chance to go to Muir Woods. We had no choice but to rearrange as the the timing of the cancellation of the 11am tour was conveniently past the 24hrs notice required to cancel. As such, we had no choice but to accept the one of the alternative times offered. When returning to the uk I realised I had also been left a voicemail, but due to the costs of making and receiving calls in the US the phone was not accepting incoming calls. The tour itself was good and the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Our time in Saulsolito was cut short and we had to catch the ferry straight away as we were on the later tour. So didn’t get the chance to spend any time there, which was our original plan. Muir Woods is definitely worth a visit if you can.

Our tour guide Charles, was a big reason we enjoyed this tour so much. Tour was a good length, Charles took the time to explain monuments, shared stories of how things evolved in San Fran, as well as adding some personal flare to the story telling. The tour itself goes everywhere in the city. Also gives good reasonable time at stops to take photos and have a good look. I found that I wasn’t really enjoying San Fran until I took this tour and the information given gave a brand new insight into the city. Definitely book this tour, and get on a bus with Charles if possible!!

"Tour got cancelled less than 24hrs when we are en route to SFO"

Booked well in advance for their tour and paid in full. En route to SFO received Email saying tour has been cancelled due to small number of passengers (this is within 22 hours prior to the tour departure), which left us with no other choice to plan anything alternative. If customer should be penalized for cancelling a booking within 24 hours, shouldn't the company be charged the same penalty if not more?
