"Muir Woods and Wine Tour"

This tour was so fun! Our guide, Anthony, was incredible! He gave great information, while being hilarious at the same time! Touring the woods was an easy walk, but you felt transported to a time that has been lost. The trees are remarkable and give a sense of pride as to the beauty this country offers. People walked in heels, sandals, or sneakers, so that wasn't an issue. It was also nice that they have a little cafe, gift shop, and clean restrooms there. The three wine tastings were great too. They have everything set once you get to each one so it couldn't be easier. We had time after each tasting for pictures or to try/buy more wine We also did the gourmet lunch/wine pairing in Sonoma, and that was definitely worth it! You get a delicious three-course meal while trying three more wines. We ended the beautiful day with a stop to take photos by the Golden Gate Bridge, which was perfect for us since our previous days there were too foggy to even see it.

First off, Jake was our tour guide and by far, the best tour guide I've ever encountered. From the music he played to the way he got everyone to interact with each other, also the secret area he took us for stunning views of the Golden Gate bridge. He is amazing! Plus on top of that, I got engaged at Kieu Hoang Winery in Napa. It was very, very special. The added bonus was Jake playing "Going to the Chapel" on the bus and everyone serenading us as we headed back to San Fran. Definitely a memorable moment for us and we'll never forget it. Thank you, Jake for making our San Francisco trip so very special!!!

"Yosemite let down"

I'm a regular contributor on TA and like to emphasise the positive in my reviews... We had fairly high expectations of Extranomical Tours from the TA reviews so I booked the 2 day Yosemite tour with them months in advance as it was to be the highlight of our 7 day SF trip. But we were left feeling extremely let down by our experience with them. Firstly we did have an issue the day before our tour with their office, as a last minute change of hotel (due to fires in the area) was not handled well by the first staff member we talked to. Luckily we insisted on talking to someone else and got to speak to an Assistant Manager called Dennis who was very helpful... Day 1 of the tour itself was disappointing as everything was done in such a rush and we agree 100% with everything said in CarolV708's review of 26 Aug as that was our exact experience too. In addition, the bus had little to no suspension and was very noisy. We were on a bus with mostly 1 day tour passengers so I assume that's why, although our itinerary said we would be touring the sights in Yosemite until 2.30pm, this was all done and dusted by 1pm - so as said above, all felt extremely rushed and the driver Brook did his best, but basically we were all treated very much like kids on a school trip as he was so concerned with keeping to his very tight schedule. Be aware also that there is nowhere to store your luggage once at the park, so this makes it extremely difficult if on the 2 day tour & your accommodation is outside of the park as you have to drag it around with you for the rest of the afternoon. Day 2 of the tour is spent as free time until you meet the bus. Having been told to meet the bus at 2.30pm, this was changed at the last minute to 3.40pm, which left us with an hour of waiting around as we were literally walking towards the meet point when we were told of the change. This would have been okay but when we arrived at the meet point at around 3.35pm & queued up to board the bus, the driver pulled us out of the queue once we got to the front, made us wait (in 90' heat) until his 1 day tour passengers had boarded the bus and then quite abruptly told us to sit right at the back. When I pointed out some empty seats towards the front of the bus he said they were for other passengers that were late & was not at all happy when I pointed out that wasn't fair as we were on time. The driver (who's name we later found out was Phil) neither introduced himself to us nor us to the other passengers and made us feel extremely unwelcome all the way back (a 4 hour journey). In short, we felt like second class citizens on this bus. I wrote to Extranomical to relay all of the above and to their credit I did receive a response and an offer of a small refund by way of apology which was very much appreciated, however I do feel they need to make some critical changes to make this tour feel worth the cost. In conclusion, If you want to see Yosemite, my recommendation would be to hire a car, book your own accommodation either in or near the park and use the YARTs for transport to/from your accommodation. Do a little bit of research beforehand to decide what you want to do once in the park as there is a free shuttle bus, in park tours and lots of other activities to do that you get no time to do if on this tour. Perhaps Extranomical are good for tours in and close to San Francisco itself but I would not recommend them for this tour
