I did the one day tour with Extranomical which I thoroughly enjoyed, however it is an easy sell as Yosemite is just breathtaking - I think you couldn't but enjoy Yosemite no matter which your you do as most buses seemed to stop at the same stops as us, so itinerary wise they are much the same. I did however have two issues with this tour - firstly the guide had a thick accent which took a lot of concentration to understand. In my experience tours are ultimately made by the delivery and interaction of the guide. our guide gave his all, so I wouldn't complain about his efforts, but a strong foreign accent on a stereo mic is just impossible to understand so unfortunately his efforts were wasted and the participants on the tour missed out on whatever content he was trying to impart. Secondly, this tour costs 155 USD which is not a cheap price for a day trip, however it is a long day and pricing is in line with competitors. As I come from outside US I expected that the price include driver/guide, otherwise what are you paying for? however when you are on the bus there are signs indicating a tip is expected and guideline given of 15%, 20% and higher. 10%-15% pretty much says you were not happy with the tour at all. This comment is generic for all tours but I do think the listed price should cover the guide./driver and pressure not put on customers to pay another 20% on top of this. It definitely left a sour taste in my mouth as I felt the trip was expensive enough in the first place and did not appreciate pressure to pay another 20%. In summary, I am glad I went as Yosemite is amazing, the bus was comfortable, times were managed well and we got to see the highlights (as most tours do) . I just think it could be improved if local US guides used and service charge included in the price of the trip.

Despite booking three months prior and due to be picked up at 8.15am they waited until gone 4pm they day before to cancel us due to low numbers. This didn't give us the chance to do the trip we wanted, couldn't offer the day we wanted to do it again. Wouldn't recommend

We did three tours with extranomical. The first was a city tour which was very informative, we did get a little board towards the end because our driver for very wrapped up in architecture so we missed out on a couple of things like Lombard street. The next tour was to Muir woods which once again the driver was very informative and happy to answer any questions. Our last tour was to Yosemite which was a huge day but worth every second. Our driver was informative and a lot of fun, would do this tour again everyday of the week. The sights we were shown were just breathtaking.

Had a really wonderful day with our tour. The driver/guide was funny, entertaining, and had a great amount of knowledge about the areas and wineries we went to. Had a great time getting to know the others on the tour from all around the tour. The wine tastings were wonderful complex wines. Was a great combination of enjoying nature for a bit then wine tastings. Great day!!

"Alcatraz and city sights tour"

I did the Alcatraz and city insider tour just the other day. Alcatraz was amazing to see as I imagined it would be. It was a little disappointing to have so many buildings closed to the public but the audio cell tour made you feel like you were reliving those times with the inmates that resided there. The city tour was a little bit of a let down. Our driver was great and very informative, however the tour itself lacked. We didn't get to stop at lombard street for photos, we only got to see it from about 500m away while stopped at an intersection. Barley got to see Coit Tower, however we did get some great photo ops of the Golden Gate Bridge.
