We done the overnight Yosemite tour with them, and also the Muir woods/Wine Country tour with them. Going out to Yosemite we had Roman as our tour guide - He is absolutely hilarious and a brilliant driver. He really made us feel at ease. On the way you will stop off at a place called Oakdale for lunch. You go to a place called Rayley’s and it it’s a supermarket/Deli. The coffee, pastries and deli sandwiches are really good and reasonably priced. After that you stop at Yosemite to see the giant sequoias. My daughter (8) and I didn’t walk fully down to see them, we only walked half way to get a feel of the place, and we were lucky enough to see a bear that crossed our path. It was an amazing experience. Coming back from Yosemite the following day, we were told to call at 12pm to confirm pick up time. We were told 3pm... 3.15pm and there was still no bus so we used my partner’s phone and checked where it was. Apparently they’d changed pick up time to 4.30pm but couldn’t contact me as my phone had no signal and no internet access in Yosemite (My advice would be to call them back at 2pm to check again) It was roasting hot and we were sat with cases and couldn’t move. They were very apologetic and actually arranged for us to get on another bus at 3.30pm. This bus driver was called Ben (I think?) He was absolutely lovely and because he was only dropping off at Union Square in san Francisco (We were staying in Fisherman’s Wharf) He arranged and Uber for us and Extranomical paid for it. Unbelievably brilliant customer service. Another fantastic thing that they did for us was rescue my daughter’s IPod! On the way back from Yosemite you stop off for food in Oakdale again for 45 mins, and our daughter left her IPod in the restaurant, but we didn’t discover this until we were near San Francisco. We rang the restaurant and they confirmed it was there, so we rang Extranomical and they got one of their drivers on the next tour to pick it up and bring it back to San Francisco. The Muir woods/wine tour was AMAZING. We met some lovely people, it’s a really sociable day with so much pretty scenery. You stop for lunch at Sonoma Plaza (Sonoma is stunning) I would highly recommend Mary’s pizza shack. We had great food and beer in there and it was so reasonably priced. This company will go above and beyond for you, don’t hesitate to book with them. Their drivers are brilliant, the tours are fantastic and full of interesting information.

"Tour was great!!"

Can’t say enough good things about this tour - it was everything we hoped and more!! Our driver was Roman - he was great!! He was funny yet informative and gave great advice about lunch in Sonoma and the wineries we visited. A note about the wineries: we first visited Mayo Family Winery - our host gave lots of information about the wine-making process, and all the staff we encountered were wonderful! We got to sample 6-7 different wines (generous portions) and felt like they genuinely cared that we were there. So glad we made our purchases here !! The second winery we visited was Kieu Hoang - the only positive I can say is that it was a beautiful venue for making pictures. We received 2 very meager samples of wine, and then the “sales pitch” began. The staff were very arrogant and didn’t really seem to care one way or the other about our being there. The last winery we visited was Cline - the staff was very helpful in providing tips on “wine etiquette” and provided nice samples of several wines. It was a beautiful place with a great gift shop - and we felt very welcomed. On the way back to San Francisco, Roman took a detour to the Marin Headlands - Wow!!! Absolutely amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding areas!! Overall, I highly recommend this tour !

My wife and I went on day tour to Yosemite. It had the potential to be a great trip but was spoiled to a degree by several factors. Negatives The bus was certainly not suitable for this type of trip. If you are expecting a tour coach, forget it. This trip was a day of 15 hours in a bus with cramped, uncomfortable seats. The ride was shakey and bumpy. The air conditioner did not cope and the ride home was hot. Several other passengers complained about this. This type of bus might be suitable for a trip of an hour or so but is woefully inadequate for a trip of this duration. Our driver Roman made me feel uncomfortable, almost unsafe, with his driving. He is obviously a skilled driver and told us he has done this trip many times. However I felt he left no margin for error and drove too fast at times for the road and conditions. I appreciate there is a tight schedule but Roman needs to slow down at times. Positives Roman is a funny guy and was informative and entertaining. The valley is breathtakingly beautiful and certainly a must see. If you are after a bit of comfort I’d give extranomical tours a miss.
