"Incredible tour of Muir Woods and Sonoma/Napa Wine Country!"

The tour guide was extremely comical and very good. We were picked up at the Holiday Inn near Ghriadelli Square. One note, we randomly chose this pickup, but it was the last pickup location and my recommendation is pick another location. We were last on the bus as a group of 5 and were separated all over the bus. The drive to the Muir Woods was not far at all and it was so beautiful. A winery in Sonoma and lunch in Sonoma were both spectacular. My favorite stops were the two wineries we saw in Napa (can't remember their names). Such a fun tour and he even pulled over at the Golden Gate Bridge to let us take photos on our way back. Definitely recommend!

"Very flexible with a last minute reservation."

I booked the Muir Woods and Sausalito 1/2 day tour at the last minute when I realized that the Marin Transit shuttle didn't start it's summer weekday route for another couple weeks. Even though it was the day before I wanted the tour they still had room to accommodate me. The morning of the tour I received a call that there was an issue with the van and that they would offer me a "complimentary upgrade" to the Muir Woods and Wine Country full day tour. I'll admit this was nice of them to offer me a more expensive and longer tour but I honestly had no interest in the wine portion of the tour and had already made other plans for that afternoon. I talked to the driver when he picked me up and he worked with their office to arrange for another tour company to pick me up at Muir Woods a few hours later. This gave me plenty of time to hike some of the many trails in the woods and see more than I would have on the regular tour. I appreciated Extranomical Tours' flexibility in not only being able to take a reservation the day before the tour but to make extra accommodations so that I could see the things I originally wanted to see. I would definitely use them for other tours in the San Francisco area in the future.

"Great way to experience a taste of Napa and Sonoma with Muir Woods as a bonus!"

Hey, this is a super way to experience Muir Woods and some wine tasting afterward! Our tour guide, Phil Siegel, was exceptional! He rounded us all up in the morning and got us up to Muir Woods in jig time where we experienced a beautiful morning walk before heading up to some select wineries. We then proceeded to our first winery, Spann in Sonoma, which I would highly recommend. Very small winery, delicious wines, and they are exceptionally appreciative for the business! Phil then expertly whisked us off to Sonoma Square for lunch, and gave us all great recommendations. We had an awesome lunch at Bistro on the Square, but there are all kinds of options from picnics to BBQ. Phil explained all the options before we hit the square so we were well prepared. We then headed off to two other wineries in Napa where we tasted (and bought) more delicious wines, then a nice ride back to San Fran which afforded a great chance for a nice nap! Tony Bennett sang us across the Golden Gate and Phil found us the best vantage point for bridge photos! He dropped us all off where we needed to be and kept us regaled with great history the whole trip (except when he let us nap). This is a great tour and Phil is an AWESOME tour guide, and he gave us some GREAT tips on seeing Yosemite, too! Do it! Leave the driving to Extranomical!

"2 Great Tours: Monterey/Carmel Hwy1 & Muir Woods/Wine Country Tasting"

Monterey & Carmel Explorer Tour (all-day via mini-bus) was our 1st tour, booked at the last minute as my husband and I wanted to check out scenic Hwy 1 while in the Bay area. Although a busy Memorial Day weekend, it was a fantastic day that included several notable stops in addition to Monterey and Carmel, and all at a relaxing pace. Along with the breath-taking views, we felt very lucky to have Phil S. as our guide/driver, who is very knowledgeable about the entire Bay area and went out of his way to gain an understanding on what/where the tour group wanted to see and spend time. Phil is a lot of fun, and funny, and a real gem of a host who truly cares about providing the best and most entertaining tour for the money. We couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. On our 2nd tour, Muir Woods and Wine Country (Super Saver; all-day with optional gourmet lunch) the first stop to beautiful Muir Woods was a great way to start with enough time for a nice peaceful walk through the woods and a visit to gift shop/facilities. Afterward, we were off to three wineries in Sonoma and Napa, two of which were private and one national distributing winery with which we were familiar. Although the optional upgrade for gourmet lunch with great wine parings was excellent, we felt rushed along with service being rather distant and reserved; most of the other tour goers opted to eat at a local restaurant. Overall, the winery touring experience was very good; 4 bottles were purchased at the first private winery. Anthony, our expert driver/guide of the larger coach, lead the way on a very fun and eventful day with his exuberance and great wit. He provided background and interesting details regarding all areas visited and was very engaging with the large group. I’m not usually into organized tours, but these 2 tours were very relaxed and entertaining, and the sights incredible. In the future, we will book again with Extranomical Tours.

Anthony was an amazing tour guide. He got us out on the road ahead of the crowds to Muir Woods where we saw the amazing redwoods. He went above and beyond in every way throughout the day and was able to deliver a great deal of information about wine and the area without being boring. In fact - he's hilarious. Would recommend touring with Extranomical and especially with Anthony.
